Easter!

First of all, Happy Easter to everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend:) James and I did Easter a little different this year. After church, we packed up some sandwiches and a blanket and drove to Elfin forest for a picnic. I guess you could say we took a little hike near Escondido creek (although it wasn't really hiking, I think we meandered for about five minutes before we stopped) and found a great little place to sit and have lunch. Such a beautiful day, such a beautiful world:)

Grrrr!!!!

I hate making cakes! I was trying to make the coolest ever cake for Austin's birthday, but it is just not working out. It is so ugly and I am so frustrated! I give up--I'm going to the store to buy a cake!

Can you believe it? Austin is 1o YEARS OLD! I am amazed at how fast this cool kid has grown--I feel like I have to buy him new clothes every-other week cuz he is growing so fast! Here is the first official picture of Austin as a ten year old, and there will be many more to come:)

Why am I so sappy?

So, I have always been kindof mushy, but It seems like ever since I got married I am getting sappier and sappier! I was on my way to work on Friday, listening to some good ol' country music and the song on the radio totally made me cry... and this isn't the first time this has happened! I have been shedding tears to country music on a regular basis for the past few months. They don't even have to be sad songs, or about anything that I have personally experienced. If I can imagine someone else being happy or sad based on the story in the song, or if the song is patriotic, or has some sort of great insight, I cry. Examples: Stealing Cinderella, Don't Blink, He's a Hero, Laughed Until We Cried. It's ridiculous.

Snack Attack!

Mmmmm.... gotta love me some good snacks! Here's my 3 favs:

1. Frozen Yogurt

I don't think I really have to explain this one as you all know how addicted I am, but I will say that it is oh so healthilicious! Favorite flavor: Golden Spoon chocolate malt & peanut butter cup, Dreyers Slow-Churned double fudge brownie

2. Pop-Tarts

Especially the strawberry cheesecake flavor. YUM!

3. Goldfish Crackers

I love fishes 'cuz there so delicious! I have always loved goldfish, and I always will. They are the snack love of my life:)

The Sprinter is Open!

It seems like it's taken for-ev-er for the new train (the Sprinter) connecting Escondido and Oceanside to be completed, but it is finally open! We took a quick ride on the new train for family night on Monday. It's actually really nice. You should all check it out:)

Weekend Highlights

I know that most of the few people who read my blog also read my sister Katie's blog and have therefore already seen some fun pictures of our make-your-own-pizza-party, but I feel that it was so fabulous I must post some pictures of my own:

Then, on Sunday James and I took a drive out to Julian. It was so gorgeous! We did some exploring at a campsite up there and walked around the town. I love Julian:)


We couldn't find a spot to put the camera for a timed self portrait, so we just put the camera on the ground and laid down on the asphalt.
